Welcome!

This is the site for the Open Educational Resource (OER) version of LIBR 100: Information Research, created by Professors Jennifer Newman and Sarah Laleman Ward from the Hunter College Libraries.

A work in progress

We are in the process of building this site. You can see what content we’ve made available under the Modules menu.

How to use this site

This site will include the syllabus, course outline, and complete lesson plans for our asynchronous, one-credit information literacy course.

This site is intended for the use of instructors interested in adopting individual lessons, copying the full course, or remixing materials. This site is not intended for use by students, though materials in our modular lessons might be of interest to them. What we’ve posted here are lesson plans including active learning assignments and reflection activities that rely on interaction with classmates and feedback from instructors.

Materials in our modules include

  • videos (YouTube)
  • downloadable worksheets (Word docs)
  • downloadable slideshows (PowerPoint)
  • copyable discussion activities (Padlet)
  • copyable self-quizzes (Microsoft forms)
